Flimsies
18.5 micron finest Australian Merino, processed in Italy and hand dyed in Australia by Jacinta Leishman in colours exclusive to The Thread Studio. Flimsies are lightweight, needled pre-felted merino. Loved by the embellisher but can also be used in wet felting, surface work and in all aspects of embroidery. We sell by the piece. Thermoformable Wool Felt Thermoformable felt is made from wool and polyester (90% wool-10% polyester). It can be used as a wonderful felt for backgrounds and stitching but it contains enough polyester to enable it to be moldable. It will retain the shape you create before you apply heat. You can stitch it and shape it first and then apply heat in an electric or microwave oven. Currently Dale is exploring the use of a heat gun – samples coming soon. This is a very new fabric for those of us who just love to experiment. The possibilities of 3D is exciting. Kunin Felt Rolls Kunin felt is an old crafter's mainstay. It is fade-resistant, cuts cleanly with no fraying, and sews and glues easily and ideal for burning techniques. Kunin felt is 100% polyester, which makes it ideal for heat distressing. It is made of EcoSpun, a 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottle product.
