Sally Darlison I have always been attracted to textiles, which explains why they have become the main medium my creative expression.
I delight in exploring the diversity of available techniques and incorporating them in my work. Inspiration is drawn from the world around me.
I use my art to express some ideas about the complexity of human nature. My recent work has often contained maps or a reference to maps.
I love maps and stories that go with them.
Creating both 2D and 3D pieces, my work includes hand dyed and printed fabric and paper, hand and machine embroidery, silk paper, and felt.
I tend to have an idea and use the material and technique that is needed to resolve it.
I have exhibited widely and completed many commissions for both national and overseas clients.
