Details
From the introduction:
It seems that the first 'Inspiration to Stitch' book was a success. I've been asked by so many people - "When are you going to write another one?"- Well here it is!

I am really pleased to be able to write about another six talented, but diverse, textile artists. There is a subtle theme between the group of six, it is simplicity. No fancy stitching techniques, no use of gimmicky textile mediums, just good, solid design work and beautiful, but simple stitch.

My choice of textile artist was easy. In two cases, Hilary & Sarah, I have known their work for some time and have always admired it. Laura's work I have seen in many textile exhibitions over the last 4 years and her name crops up wherever good quilts are on show. Fenella came to give a lecture at my local quilt group 2 years ago where I was introduced to her stunning work. In two others, they have been recent finds. Jenny Bullen, I met on a day school last year, she had such lovely samples, I couldn't resist them, wanted to see more and found that I had seen her work before but hadn't realised it was hers. Terrie Hitchcock is a very recent discovery, I saw her work at a friend's house white visiting earlier this year. My friend took me to Terrie's studio & introduced me, I was captivated by the quirky, doll-like figures and other treasures, including her sketchbooks and drawings. I'm so glad she agreed to be part of the book. Thanks to you, Susan (Chapman). In this book there is more emphasis on simple design, with ideas for developing designs, but keeping the simplicity theme going. I hope you enjoy that bit, it's fun, why not have a go?
