Patti Culea's latest work, Creative Cloth Doll Couture, is an expert workshop on designing couture fashions for your art dolls. Making stylish, exotic, and beautiful garments and accessories, such as hats, shoes, and purses, is an essential part of designing an art doll, and a task that many doll designers find daunting. In addition to instructions for creating a basic doll designed to fit all of the featured garments, readers will find full-color, step-by-step instructions for making a vintage 1940s suit, a 1960s collaged and layered outfit, a formal gown, and a fantasy fairy ensemble with wings. Each ensemble teaches new techniques, from decorative appliqués and beaded trims to draping techniques for silks and satins, to dyeing, stamping, and painting effects.
