About the Author
Sherrill was an art educator for 30 years in the public schools, specializing in drawing, painting, fiber, and design. Since retirement from the public schools, she has taught nationally and internationally for stores, conferences, guilds, and educational institutions. She owns Impress Me, a rubber-stamp company, with her husband, Joel. She has five fabric lines with Robert Kaufman Fabrics, a paint line with Jacquard, and Rollagraphs and Style Stones products with Clearsnap. She has written more than 40 magazine articles; this is her fourth book.

Sherrill made doll clothes when she was eight using a composite doll about 9" tall with arms that were removable, so the garments could be put on and taken off easily. Her mother, Ann, who taught elementary school, taught her to sew, knit, and crochet. Her mother was a master at embroidery and sewing and passed on her skills to Sherrill.

Today Sherrill continues to experiment with all possible media. She loves to play endlessly with her designs on the computer, as well as draw, knit, crochet, sew, machine embroider, needle felt, and hand stitch. Sherrill enjoys trying out every new product that seems interesting. She definitely lives by the words "What if?" and hopes you enjoy the techniques in Stitched Collage.
