Christmas Designs From the author - - Introduction Christmas is an evocative time, rich with colour and atmosphere. People celebrate this special occasion by meeting family and friends and exchanging cards and gifts. Many of us enjoy creating our own Christmas decorations, greetings cards and presents, using various crafts including painting on glass and fabrics. My experience as an illustrator has helped me to create these Christmas designs, which you may use regardless of what you wish to make. About the designs I have tried to bring together a wide variety of source material that I hope will inspire you, especially those of you who find the design aspect difficult. Be adventurous with my designs. You may decide to vary the scale and for this you can use a photocopier if you have access to one. You could enlarge one section of a design, and by doing so create something individual. Some of the designs lend themselves to being used in sections, and when drawn on a larger scale could be effective for decorating fabric drapes using fabric paints. Other designs are more appropriate for greetings cards or needlework, and some lend themselves to patterns for glass work, regardless of whether you use glass paints or copper foil technique. And finally I really hope you enjoy making use of my designs and thinking about adapting them to suit your own needs, They may even help you to create your own individual designs.
