Postage Information

The Thread Studio is based in Perth, Western Australia, and all parcels are sent by Australia Post unless otherwise requested. If registered post is required, the extra charge is $2.00.
When ever a parcel qualifies, we charge the 'large letter' rate only.

Parcels to schools and universities outside Perth are sent by Express Post unless otherwise asked for. Schools and Universities within Perth are sent by registered mail. Both these options have tracking.

Australia Post:
Official parcel delivery times from Perth to the eastern seaboard are around 7 to 10 days (parcels are transported by road), although it's not that unusual for parcels to be delivered 5 working days after we send them. However, occasionally they have taken longer than 14 days.

We therefore strongly recommend use of the Express Post yellow satchel service if you want to be sure of getting your goods within a few days of ordering.

Large letters are much quicker, they are dispatched by air.

The Thread Studio:
The Thread Studio generally posts your parcel on the day the order is received.

Occasionally there are exceptions to this, for example if we are out of stock of an item, but likely to have it within a day or so, we will hold and send the whole order in one parcel.

Delays from us of up to five working days occur when we are at a trade show. There are only a few periods each year when this happens. A notice will be placed on the General Information page of the catalogue at those times.

Back Orders:
When we need to send an item on back order, no additional postage is charged. However, in order to keep our postage rate as reasonable as possible we have one exception to this.
Books:
Book supplies into Australia are beyond our control and occasionally we have to wait many weeks for new supplies. We are very happy to back order books for customers, but because of the high cost of postage, we will apply our $6.60 rate to non magazine style books. This is still well below actual cost.
