Sheer Heaven Art Paper

Paints, inks, pencils, and pastels
- take on a wonderful new depth and richness when applied to Sheer Heaven, and no amount of moisture will cause a warping or surface degradation.

You can dye it, dip it, dunk it and drown it
And soak it and spray it and spritz it! It will dry like new every time -without a warp or a wrinkle.

Decoupage and Collage
Because moisture does not bother Sheer Heaven, you can use it as a beautiful, translucent base for collage, overlaying rice and other papers with acrylic mediums. Images drawn, painted, or printed on the Sheer heaven itself can be applied to collages using those same mediums and the pieces will lie flat and dry smooth.

Pigment inks dry on it without heat
Not only do they dry, they eventually become waterproof and you can't even scrub them off!

You can heat emboss on Sheer heaven
Hold the heat tool at least 6" away and there will be no effect from the heat.

Book Artists:
Picture indestructible, translucent pages and overlays, archival and acid free - that will accept all media, even collage, without bulging. End papers made of Sheer Heaven will never crack or tear along the folds.

You can print on it with your inkjet
Just think of the possibilities! Backlit photos, luminaria windows, suncatchers. Combine art techniques with printed text.

You can fold and refold it - it won’t crack or tear

Perfect for masking and stencilling.
It cuts easily, lies flat and hugs your paper - and you can see through it.

Polymer Clay Artists:
You can bake Sheer Heaven! it can go right in the oven with your clay. What possibilities does this suggest with translucent Liquid Sculpey?

All art media look great on it
Colored pencils go on its suede surface like velvet and build up to wonderfully vibrant hues. Pastels are absorbed right into the surface so you don’t need fixatives. Use watercolor, glass paints, acrylics, and dyes without worrying about paper warp.

Sheer Heaven does not have a coated surface like many fine art materials do. It is etched and, under a microscope, would look something like carpet fibers. This is why such a waterproof sheet is able to accept paints, inks, pencils, etc. just like fine art papers. However, because the media sits down in the fibers at different levels, and because Sheer Heaven is translucent, allowing light to reflect from whatever is behind it, there is a depth to the finished product (almost like a 3-D effect) that makes for a whole new experience - even when using a familiar medium.

And one of Sheer Heaven’s finest features is its performance in both inkjet and laser printers. In this age of experimentation between the real and virtual art worlds, it brings a new kind of magic to the art print or photo - even enabling processes that could never have been done before.
